Dave has been dancing for over thirty years and teaching for over twenty!  

 

He has studied and taught West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, Salsa, Nightclub 2-Step, Country 2-Step and country line dancing, and Waltz.

 

Places: Dave has taught dance classes all over the Rouge Valley: Evergreen Ballroom, Ashland YMCA, SOU, RCC, Ashland Schools, Medford schools, Firehouse Dance Hall, Belle Fiore Winery, Dancin’ Winery and Pascal Winery. He also teaches private lessons in Ashland and Medford.

 

Dave’s favorite thing to teach: wedding dances! “There’s nothing so fun and gratifying as working with two people who are madly in love and who are trying to find the perfect dance to express it.”

 

Dave’s first love in dance is West Coast Swing. He not only dances and teaches West Coast Swing, he also competes at regional and national levels, currently ranked Advanced by the World Swing Dance Council.

 

In addition, he is the founder and director of Southern Oregon Swing (SOswing!), dedicated to promoting West Coast Swing in Southern Oregon—and beyond. SOswing’s two annunal events are SOswing Convention, a weekend-long, nationally-sanctioned West Coast Swing dance event and competition with over a dozen dance pros, and Wine & Dancing, a summer dance weekend that features pro staff, workshops and dancing held at local Southern Oregon wineries.

SOswing also host a monthly West Coast Swing dance every third Saturday.

 

All this dancing and planning keeps Dave quite busy—and he loves every minute of it!
